This month we feature one of our up-and-coming students at Summit Salon Academy – Gainesville, Mario Herrera. With a focus on making sure everyone gets fresh cuts, Mario’s positive vibes are preparing him for a successful future in the cosmetology industry.
What got me inspired to be in cosmetology would be my daughter. I wanted to do something that she could be proud of her father for. Overall, I love being able to help people feel better inside and out. The fact that I’m able to hear people’s walk of life and their daily struggles, and make them happy after they walk off my chair, brings me joy.
The reason I joined Summit Salon Academy – Gainesville was for the sole reason of wanting to expand my skill set and being able to meet a client’s needs; whatever they may be.
For all future students that are going to be joining the Summit Salon Academy team, I encourage you all to push through, even if you feel like giving up. Push through, even if you feel like you don’t have the support you’re asking for from friends and family. Focus on your goals and don’t let people around you distract you.
My goal after I finish cosmetology school is to go back to my home city of Miami (305 till I die baby 😝) to open my own salon/day spa, and then be able to hand the business down to my family as I will be doing music as well! Check me out on Apple Music: Maso el Oso
I don’t really just want to choose one because I’m all for city life, beach life, mountain life and country life buuuuut if I really had to choose one, it would have to be beach life. 🏖🏖
